The Atlantic | Havana and the Other Cuba
This is where my family’s from and by extension, I am, too. I’ve only heard stories and seen the photos and worn the jewelry, the family heirlooms, my grandma snuck out in the lining of her suitcase in the early 60s but I’m dying to visit. I wouldn’t go until my grandparents passed away, out of respect for them, but I know I’ll go there someday.
